But today, it was all worth it. Syd and I got up at 7 and quickly curled back up under the warm covers. We weren't meeting the girls til 8:30 and boy were we glad about that. It was one of those days when I really wanted to stay in bed, but it was also one of those days when I knew I would be glad I got up and out. We were not disappointed.
Small group today - Dani, Jillian and me and Syd and Mia. And it was awesome. There is no better way to feel alive than to be out on such a magical day. We slipped and fell (at least two of the three of us and the other was damn close many times!) and we laughed and yelped. We were covered in leaves and frost and well, words can't seem to describe this day.
I am not ready for winter. And today felt more like February than October. And yesterday, well, yesterday was miserable. But I guess to see this kind of beauty sometimes you need to wade through the miserable first.
And next time we have coffee and oatmeal/oatbran with pure maple syrup and peanut butter at Dani's house in Green Mountain Falls, I might just not leave her living room. It's a sweet little sanctuary, the home she has. Thanks to friends as adventure-loving as me we braved a cold day and they fed my soul for a day or two. And all the people pics - credit goes to Jillian - well except for the one she's in!
