Side by side

It is hard to believe that the snow covered streets were Wednesday last week and on Thursday the sun drenched images were my daily experience for a mere 52 hours. It is fitting to compare these photos - these glimpses of springtime in two different western towns. I am struggling to find joy in the classic Colorado spring we are experiencing: 60 degrees one day and 35 degrees the next, repeated every few days. It is late March and we are headed into April - likely the two most volatile weather months we have. Needles to say I was glad to escape to the West coast for an intense couple of days.

I have experienced a full range of emotions between the moment of the snowy photo and this moment in which I write. Interviewing will do that to me. Anticipation, fear, euphoria and in some moments it's all mixed into one odd feeling. I visited a place I hadn't been in many years - once upon a time with my family over a winter break. My poor memory can't recall whether it was a childhood trip to the Monterey Peninsula or an early adulthood trip - it's been a while - let's just say. It is a beautiful place. Stunning at some turns, even.

So now it is time to reflect on all I learned about myself, about this place and about possibility.

I hope you find your reflections fruitful! It is so strange to be in perfect summer practically here and to hear from family and friends about the dumps of snow in Colorado. California has spoiled me so quickly. But my memory can be jogged -- oh volatile colorado weather!
